Held during Memorial Day weekend, the second annual Jerichon was a great success. Guardian members from around the country, and some parts of the world, gathered in the town of Oakley, Kansas to celebrate friendships, meet crewmembers of Jericho, and learn a little about surviving natural disasters and situations that were highlighted within the television series Jericho.
Fans got together on Friday was once again held at The Bluff, aka Bailey's. The annual barbecue was held at High Plains Campground on Saturday night with food supplied again this year by Colonial Steak House, and a dance held afterwards. Sunday morning, fans were greeted by the smiling faces of the members of the VFW and VFW Women's Auxiliary, treating everyone to a great breakfast.
Closing ceremonies got off to a great bang with a member of Jennings & Rall taking "control" of the GOJ assets and the Board of Directors being "arrested" by Ravenwood. Fans chased after the crew members with the "Season 3 plot" folder up for grabs. After a fifteen minute break, fans gathered back together at the Memorial Gardens to lay a wreath in honor of the nation's fallen.
Many memories and friendships were made this weekend, and over $4000 was made for local charities. A great success with hope for an even more successful year at Jerichon 2009!
With the Board taking the month of June off to recover from this year's Jerichon, look forward to more information coming soon about the pre-planning of Jerichon 2009!
